I have been trying to convince Jason that we need a new kitchen table for a while now.
The one we have now is round with a center pedestal and it drives me nuts that the legs of the chairs hit the pedestal and wont go all the way under the table. The other MAJOR problem with this table is that we have had it for about 18 years now and although it is a great sturdy table and has withstood a lot, the finish has pretty much worn off from the constant cleaning it with cleaning sprays. It has 3 leaves to extend it to an enormous size and those leaves are beautiful... the way it used to look like, but we decided we would rather have a more square/rectangle table with 4 legs in the kitchen now and we have been wanting to go lighter colored, so I finally convinced Jason that we should go "look" since it was Memorial Day weekend!!!
We went to Haverty's and saw 2 tables we liked, but one was too big and the other too dark although both had very comfy seats.
Then we went to Rooms to Go, which he didnt think he wanted to go there or would like anything there, and we both fell in love with the same table. It is a Cindy Crawford table with a pretty pine wood top and white washed weathered look base and legs and the chairs are in different colors with the table tops wood color in the seat. It was the perfect size and the exact look we were looking for. It is bar height, which seems to be the "in style" right now, so we bought 8 chairs since we seem to have a lot of company over and always need chairs, and we also bought a side table for the couch since ours is in "throw away" condition!
I am so glad we went to "look" because it is being delivered Wednesday!!! Yippee!!! I love it!
